Carless Stays
Did you know that it is simple and convenient to get around Bath these days without a car? The City run trolley makes trips all around the city every half hour. These trips include stops at the Maritime Museum, Downtown and through the historic District. Getting to Bath from Portland is also simple. There is a Concord Trailways bus twice a day that drops you off in Bath. The Galen Moses House would pick you up at the station of course. Then there are boat trips to have lunch in Booth Bay Harbour or in Augusta. Let us know your transportation needs and we can arrange for your travels to a lot of interesting places in the Bath area.
Railroad Rides
With the opening soon of the newly refurbished train station in Bath, taking a leisurely railroad trip to Rockport or Camden has become even easier. These are great day trips for the family and for railroad buffs. Contact us if you need more information or go to www.maineeasternrailroad.com for daily schedules and tariffs.
water sports
The Galen Moses House has been receiving a number of announcements from rafters, island tour companies and kayakers which would probably interest some of you who are planning trips to Maine right now. There has been so much rain over the past weeks that the rivers and streams are at their capacity. There are raft runs on the Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers and kayaking just about everywhere. There are interesting boat trips to Monhegan Island where you watch the puffins at play. Contact us if any of this interests you.

A Great Recipe for Breakfast
The other day I tried a new recipe for breakfast which really sent the guests asking for more....and it was soooo simple. Banana Bourbon French Toast. You just dip the cinnamon raisin bread in a mixture of eggs, vanilla and half and half and cook. For the sauce you can use bourbon (or other liquor) mixed with brown sugar and maple syrup. Drop your bananas in the sauce at the last minute to absorb some of the sauce and place on top of the French Toast. What could be simpler? And the taste is "wake up time!" Just thought I would share this with anyone out there who is interested.
